50 Economic Ideas You Really Need to Know by Edmund Conway

Firstly I would recommend this book to anyone who is currently studying or will study A-Level Economics, as most ideas discussed in this book are also present in the syllabus of A-Level Economics. However, this does not mean that only economics students should read this book, anybody who reads this book will understand every idea discussed, due to the simplicity and clarity that Conway uses to explain these key economic ideas.

Conway accurately explains each idea from Adam Smith’s invisible hand to new strands of economics such as environmental economics. Each idea is given four full pages with diagrams and interesting information that grabs the reader’s attention to every small detail.

The simplicity of the books is astounding, for example when it comes to complex ideas such as Game Theory, Conway uses clear and easy language to teach the reader without using long and technical language that is most commonly associated with books of this type.

This book is compact but yet offers much information with clear and easy to understand descriptions. In addition, the pure simplicity of the book makes it all the more fantastic to read, from its organised contents (in historical order!) to the exciting features of each chapter. Anyone who reads this book will become instantly equipped with the knowledge to understand the complex financial world we live in today.
